Morning Worship (10.30am)

Type of Service  

Informal; All-age on the 1st Sunday each month
Format:  No fixed order of events
Congregational participation welcome, including prayer, Q&A, testimony (with guidance, e.g. interview format).

Times of activities  

Prayer with the preacher and worship group at 10:15
Worship music from 10:20
Service starts at 10:30 till 11:30
Coffee after the service until about 12:00
Building locked up by around 12:15

Children

Usually 2 or 3 children present, age range 8-11
3-11 meet as a group (except on 1st Sunday of each month)
Children leave usually after second song with a short blessing but do not go out during August services.
Children return after the sermon. Please request at appropriate time, e.g. at the beginning of a song.

Children's Address

Please include children's address during August services when
children remain throughout the service. Your choice at other times.

Offering

Usually taken after the children return by one of the children

Birthdays

Small gift given to anyone with a birthday that day or duing the coming week. (We do not usually sing "Happy Birthday".)

Notices

Please ask for any notices to be brought when appropriate

Prayer book

Brought to front during song before intercessions. Prayer diary also used each week for intercession subjects.

The list of songs known by the congregation can be found  by browsing the Airfield Church website at:

Music Either LIVE, with some or all of: flutes, guitar, keyboard, 1 or 2 voices or RECORDED with CD's, tracks referenced on songlist.
Preacher advised which in pre-service contact.
Audio-Visual system All songs, readings & the Lord's Prayer are projected on a laptop
& projector. Other material such as video clips (.mp4), audio clips (.mp3), PowerPoint slides, pictures, text etc. can be included in the playlist (if received at least 24hrs beforehand).
Bible version  New International Version (2008) copies available to congregation.
New International Version (2011) projected onto screen during readings.
Revised Common Lectionary normally used, sometimes we follow a 5 or 6 week theme. Please confirm readings with list of songs.
Readers available?           Normally arranged on a rota from congregation
Children One song suitable for all ages before the children go to groups please.
