Christmas Fayre - 12th NOVEMBER 2016
A huge thank you to all who supported and helped with the Christmas Fayre last week. There were 119 sweets in the jar and the Christmas cake weighed 3lb 11ozs.
The following money was raised: for St Michael's Hospice - £96.87, for Bluebells - £64.45 and for our Church - £431.
This was a good result financially and we hope and pray people were blessed in working together and the community in coming to the sale enjoyed their experience and will hang up their Christmas stars as part of their home decorations.
A schedule of the events that took place on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June can be found here.

Oakley’s Top 10 ‘Songs of Praise’
On Saturday 4th June 2016 Oakley Methodist Church celebrated its 150th anniversary with an open-air service around the pond which included the Oakley Village’s Top 10 ‘Songs of Praise’.
Many people in the village voted for their three favourite songs (and tunes) and the Top 10 ‘Songs of Praise’ list was calculated. The results were:

2) And Can It Be (Tune: Sagina)
3) Amazing Grace
4) Blessed Assurance
5) In Christ Alone My Hope Is Found
6) Lord Of The Dance
7) The Lord's My Shepherd (Tune: Crimond)
8) Be Still For The Presence Of The Lord
9) Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace
10) Thine Be The Glory (Tune: Maccabaeus)
The latest “Away Day” was held on Saturday 2nd April 2016 from 10.30am to 4.30pm at St Mary’s Church Centre Overton.
For more information please speak to Brian or Thelma.
What is an “Away Day”?
The day is an opportunity to get away from our normal surroundings and spend some quality time with each other and focus on God. Sometimes the Christian life is difficult and life generally can be overwhelming so we invite you to take time out. On an “Away Day” we can recharge our batteries and have fun, food and fellowship together.
The day we have planned will include practical, mental and spiritual activities that we hope will stimulate and inspire us. The day will include some sung worship and teaching. We hope it will be an encouragement to us all as we continue life’s journey and enjoy the freedom God wants for each of us.
