Prayer Labyrinth at Tadley Common - July 2014
The labyrinth was held on July 12th 2014 at Tadley Common Methodist church. Rev.David Shaw began by reading about Moses and the burning bush and explained how an ordinary place can become a holy place where we can encounter God - just as we were hoping to do in the sunny grounds of the church.
We helped Rev Alison Parker set out the plaited labyrinth full of beautiful plaited strands made by communities and individuals in both the Reading and Basingstoke circuits.
Reminding us that we are one and are united in Christ
What a great way to begin our celebrations over the coming weeks of the joining the two circuits
We had a beautiful, peaceful, prayerful morning as we walked around it.
Lots of hymns ran through my head as I walked and prayed but the one that seems most appropriate is
"Bind us together Lord, bind us together- with cords that cannot be broken"
There were also indoor labyrinths made from sand and stamps to make little labyrinth cards. Rev. Angela Webb's prayers for the labyrinths and for our journey with God were just perfect.
